Providing the BDE interface for other applications under Windows
The Borland Database Engine (abbreviated BDE) is an interface of Borland Inc. to access databases, for example the famous dBase and Paradox databases.
Access to Paradox and dBase databases on your current Windows version
Many programs use the BDE. In general, the user does not know that he is using the BDE, but if he tries to start the same program with Windows 7, the message "Error initializing the Borland Database Engine" appears. At this moment it is obvious that the program is not bad but there is an improper installation for the BDE for Windows 7.
Key features you can do with BDE Express
· Allows to activate and deactivate BDE exPress
· It allows to restore the initial state before the installation of BDE eXpress
· Contains "BDE Express Backup", an integrated data backup tool to store entire Paradox and dBase databases
· Convert databases from old formats to Paradox 7 format
· Allows to start the "Borland BDE Administration"
· Offers support for user Alias

A must have if you use Paradow and Delphi for XP and want to get rid of XP..
MoreMade it possible for me to get rid of Wndows XP. I have several projects using Delphi and Paradox and I had no intension to upgrade theese at an enormous cost. It really save my day. Everything work perfect.
